Baby on Board!

It only seems fitting that I launch this blog with possibly the biggest, most exciting news of my life thus far: WE ARE PREGNANT! I cannot tell you how exciting it is to type those words. We are expecting a baby boy to arrive in December 2024 and are feeling over the moon about this new phase of our lives.

We had been trying to conceive for a little while before that positive pregnancy test finally came. The negative tests month after month caused a lot of stress and disappointment, especially when people are constantly asking “When are you guys going to have kids” or “Isn’t it time for you guys to try starting a family?” It was even more disheartening hearing about friends who were getting pregnant almost immediately after they began trying. But alas, that positive pregnancy test came in April and it was kind of a surprise! I was hopeful of course, I knew I was late because I had been tracking my periods for over a year at that point but I didn’t really feel any different like I often hear women say.

At this point Matt and I have been married for 8 years (our 9th anniversary is in September) and this is our first baby so we have absolutely no idea what to expect with pregnancy. I will be sharing all the details with you as I continue to learn and grow – week to week and month to month. I did not plan on pregnancy and motherhood being a part of this blog but when life throws wonderful surprises your way, I believe you must embrace them. So for anyone out there who may be reading this, we cannot wait for you to follow along on this pregnancy journey with us!
